Whirlpool Washer WTW5000DW1 Manual Test Mode Spin, Agitate Issue

My machine doesn't go into agitate or spin. Diagnostics reported F7E5 (shifter fault) and F5E2 (lid lock fault). I cleaned the lid lock of corrosion and it now functions properly.

I'm trying to get my washer to go into the Spin and Agitate manual test modes but the lid doesn't lock (I get lights 8 and 1, or 8 and 2, etc. but not the lid lock light). So when pushing On/Off I end up getting all LEDs flashing instead of going into the modes. The lock lid test passes this step, however.

I suspect I might need a new actuator but I want to know for sure. Has anyone come across this issue?

When in doubt, give it a wack.

I put the washer on its side just to see what happens when it attempts to shift to spin or agitate and the actuator seemed to be struggling. So I gave it a swift "what for" with a wrench and it seems to be working for now.
