Miele Dishwasher leaving flecks of food after "Waterproof" error

Hey All, over the weekend our Miele G7156 SCVi SF started throwing a waterproof error (happens when the drain pan fills with water) at the end of the cycle accompanied what sounded like a pump running continuously.

I saw that this was triggered by the float in the drain pan, I emptied the drain pan, cleaned the filter and sump (checked the impeller etc.), and ran it again resulting in the same error.

I pulled the dishwasher out and took off the side panel, and then disconnected the drain hose from both ends. The drain hose was full of water (as was the reservoir that sits behind the drain hose). The drain hose didn't have any blockages. The dishwasher is draining into my garbage disposal which doesn't have any clogs or backups.

After reassembling everything I am no longer getting any water in the drain pan (and therefore no waterproof errors) but I am noticing flecks of food/debris on my dishes and the inside of the basin. The dishes are very clean otherwise, just random small pieces of debris dried on the exterior. I never had this before the waterproof errors

This happens on both quick and normal cycles. I use Finish powerball quantum tablets with a tiny bit of liquid cascade on the door (for cycles with a pre wash).

Any ideas on what might be going on or how to further troubleshoot?
