GE French door fridge 795.70322.310 water supply to door trickle

Patient has been supplying water consistently until about 2 weeks ago. It suddenly stopped. Filter has been replaced and reset. Tried a filter dummy plug as well and got no result. There is a hum in the door indicating that the pump(?) is trying to run.

The owner claims that the area in the front left lower shelf of his fridge was freezing things, so the termperature is set to 0 / 39 F. Claims that freezing items in the fridge are no longer an issue.

Nothing else has changed. Fridge has not been moved.

troubleshooting.

1) Pull out the fridge and check wall supply?

2) Is there a filter at the inlet that might be clogged?

3) Line from back of fridge to door. How accessible is it to test? I"m a DIYer, but have been pretty far into refirgerators, Dishwashers, etc.

4) fill pump making noise but not working? failed impellor?

Am I guessing in the wrong direction?

Thanks,

Marc

At the bottom of the LH door is a panel, behind which you should find a reservoir and a dual solenoid water valve. Bad valves can still hum. This one is real fun because it's built by LG and the last time I had to replace one of these valves I had to come here, hat in hand, to ask an LG specialist to help me find the right part number. Gain access to that panel and look for a part number on the valve that can be cross referenced online.

Quick question. Getting that panel off without breaking it since it appears to be NLA

I removed the screw at the top, and got most of it off, but the left side, by the edge of the door felt a little too attached, and I didn't want to force it.

Is there another fastener over there? or should I just continue to pry, working my way around the cover to get it off? Theres a small indentation on the edge of the door that looks like a cover that might conceal another fasterner, but I didn't see a good way to get that off.

Thanks,

If memory serves me correctly, I think it's just a clip, but LG stuff is clipped notoriously tight. You might try a plastic pry bar. I carry plastic automotive trim prybars for stuff like this.
