Was wondering if the new style modular icemaker can be installed in this model refrigerator. I think this refrigerator has the flat style connector, but I'm not sure. It may have the round plug. Either way, can the new style work??

Thanks.

Tarheel, can we re-check that model number? Should have 8 digits following the 253. I **think** the modulars came with a kit of various plugs to fit just about anything (except a GE with the IM6, but that's another story.....)

Didn't recheck model number.......it was given to me from a customer, but I looked this model # up on sears.com, and it recognized it. From their parts diagram, it looks to have a flat plug. The icemakers I usually order do not have both the flat and round plugs. Do you have a part # for the icemaker kit that does include both? Thanks.

4317943 is the replacement for the model you posted & it looks like the new modular style. Comes with the flat style plug and  round adapter.
