Whirlpool WTW57ESVW1 : Damaged top shaft seal of the Basket Drive (aka spin/drive tube)

Howdy All,

I am repairing a Whirlpool WTW57ESVW1 Top Load washer and during the disassembly I accidently damaged the top shaft seal of the Basket Drive (aka spin/drive tube). I tried pulling it out but it's almost as if it was sealed or glued in there so now I am trying to work out whether I can simply order a replacement seal (and seal it inside the shaft cavity with some gasket maker) or whether I have to replace the entire Basket Drive/Spin Tube assembly.

I have uploaded pictures to Imgur (https://imgur.com/a/EIk1SeD) as well as on this post of the top of the spin shaft so that you can see where the original seal was seated. Looking at the parts diagram for the washer, I think the seal is part # WP356427 (OEM24034870) but I am not entirely sure. I also went down a YouTube rabbit hole where one repair video I saw had the technician replace what looks like the same seal with 3 or 4 different seals (https://youtu.be/f8aS9eBJgcc?t=1154) so I am trying to work out the best course of action I should take.
