How to find out defective heating elements of my induction cooktop

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have Gaggenau CX480 cooktop. Its heating elements were replaced couple years ago and I suspect some of them are broken again because of the uneven heat in my cookware. (Some parts of the meat burns while other parts stay uncooked etc, or I measure with Bosch thermometer gun and it shows 200 F, other part shows 140 F)

Is it possible to diagnose this without calling technical service? I remember the technician entered some diagnostic menu by pressing on some menu item long or multiple times but I forgot what it was. What might it be?

Sounds like it has a bad coil

a little unusual though

whats the quality of the pan you are using ?
Allowing a good time to preheat the pan ?

Have you tested all the elements? You said some of them have this problem, I'd test all of them with identical conditions and times and if they all do it then there you go. They're all bad. (Or more likely that's just how the unit works)
