Hello, I wonder if there are any other Canadian Master Samurai techs on here? Who might know who is hiring in out west?

I have less than a years experience in appliance repair.  I have worked in the trades most of my life as a helper to whatever owner/tradesmen that hired me. It was alot of outdoor work. Mostly worked with general contractors, roofers, a mason, a plumber, perimeter drain guys, a painter. I love the hustle on jobsites, working a two- or three-person crew. In summer, I would head to work in the woods. It was great until I hit my 50s and in a bit of a middle age panic,  I decided to get an electrical ticket mostly because I’ve always wanted to demystify it, and I have an interest in fixing electromechanical things. I am two years in now and though I do enjoy the residential construction aspects of wiring and lighting, Its a familiar workplace and as an apprentice electrician, I am inside all the time, in dusty , toxic work environments. I ask myself: Do I want to do residential electric work beyond 4 years? Maybe not.

And then I helped an appliance repair guy and adored it! On my own, I have fixed a couple stoves for friends, replaced half dozen water filters on fridges, changed out bellows and belts on dryers, some switches, and I am hooked!! Appliance repair means I get to use all the same electrical tools and meters, and continue to understand circuits and technology as it helps the home.

I am so thankful to Master Samurai Tech for the courses that keep me on my toes and give me an education in motors and appliance repair. I hope to continue with all or most of your courses.

I am only just beginning to find my way around this site. If you know of any job leads in Canada, an old tech looking for a tech, maybe? Let me know.

Thanks, Chris
