Jenn Air Side By Side Built in Refrigerator JS48PPDBDA

We bought a Jenn Air Side By Side Built in Refrigerator JS48PPDBDA two years ago.  A month ago I heard a rattel coming from the upper section above the freezer.  After removing the inside top compartment of the freezer section, I was able to view the Evaporator fan and the fan motor.  A huge chunk of ice (not frost) had encircled around the motor and wires all the way to the blades of the fan.  We emptied the freezer, manually defrosted the ice.  Put everything back--the noice disappeared.  Problem solved, No.  Several weeks later, I slowly started noticing ICE and icecicles coming from a space toward the top front of the freezer.  Slowly over the course of a week more Ice built up agaist the wall and dripped to the very bottum of the freezer where it froze.  Everything in the freezer is frozen with a temp displayed of -5.  Everything in the refrigerator is nice a cold with a temp at 36 degrees.  After removing the inside top compartment of the freezer section again, and moving all the way to the evaporator, I found the evaporator was totally iced over.  Not frost, ice. What would the problem be?

This unit has a three year parts and labor warranty on it.  I would suggest using it.  There was a service flash issued about evaporator drain pans freezing over do to misalignment and air leaks.  Not an easy task to get to on this model.  IF you're still covered under warranty, take advantage of it.  If not, Samurai can you post TS TDR - 0061 - B and see if that is where he is freezing over.

Thank You, I did email Jenn Air--just waiting for a reply.  When I did get into the area of the evaporator and pulled out the styrofoam and the evaporator pan, the area between the pan and the styrofoam had ice.  I put everything back together, but as I was doing that I noticed on the refrigerator area above some greenish bluish dye formation.  I evaluated more, it appears that maybe one of the copper freon tubes might be leaking freon.  When I touched the area of possible leakage, it was dry.  You would think that after spending almost $8000.00 on a refrigerator, we would see no problems this early.

Come on, I've had 2 transmissions in my Honda Odyssey in under 70K and I would still buy another probably.  $hit happens. Probably is not a freon leak, or in this case 134A leak because you would have lose of cooling.  The discoloration you see is either oxidation or something else.  It probably is just an air leak causing it to ice over and then overflow defrost water. It is not a hard repair just a crap to get at.  I'd let them do it if you can.
