Good morning,

Electric range : whirlpool ywee75ohohv

Button element blew. Range stopped working.

Replaced the burnt breaker fuse in fuse box. Replaced button element. Oven now works, the only problem now is that bake doesn't heat up normally. Noticed button element is only getting 120v wire to wire instead of 240v. That's the problem.

Checked the thermal sensor. It shows 1110 ohms in normal temperature, so if seems it is fine.

Checked the thermal fuse for cintinuity and all good.

All I can think is it could be the relay on circuit board that is faulty and not sending 240v to button element.

What are your thoughts? Is there anything else I should check? Should I just replaced thermal Sensor first? (even tho if reads 1110 ohms which I think is a right number).

Please help. Thank you

What do you mean by "button element?" The bake element? Usually one side of the bake, broil, and convection elements will go direct to one of the 120V hot legs at the power cord hook up connection and the other 120V side goes through a relay to the element. I don't think the temp sensor is a problem as they are normally around 1050 ohms at room temp.

Do any of the broil, bake, and convection elements work properly independently or is it all of them that aren't working? If the oven control is indicating that the oven is on but you've only got 120V across the element, then you need to see if you've got the other 120V side coming out of the relay. It could be a blown out relay on the board and you can inspect the back side of the solder joints on the board where the relays are to see if any obvious blown out connections. Relays can go bad without any obvious signs as well but I have re-soldered my share of arced connections if it didn't just blow a big hole in the board first.  I don't have a wiring diagram for that unit but there might be one on the unit somewhere that can help you.
