Morning forum first time posting
I would like to pick your brains if I may.
My wife has noticed that our Blizzard BAR20 fridge is not cooling correctly I had a Quick Look at it last night and noticed that the compressor was not kicking in yet a gentle tap on the compressor itself makes it start up.
Really wanting to know if someone has any knowledge of what the problem could be.
a faulty starter relay perhaps?
the compressor itself?

any advice would be great fully received

Not familiar with that particular unit, but they all operate pretty much the same way. There is a relay/overload device plugged onto the pins on the compressor that may be faulty, or have a bad connection. If the compressor runs and the unit cools after you smack it, then the compressor itself is probably good, unless it is getting too hot and cutting off. Check the condenser coil and fan as well. If the condenser is clogged up and/or the fan isn't running then that can overheat the compressor and make it cut out on the overload.

You can replace the relay easily enough if you can source the part. There are also after market all in one compressor relay/overload kits that can be used as well. I'd contact a parts supply house that deals with that brand with the complete model number of the unit and they should be able to find the correct part, or possibly the manufacturer has a parts department you can contact.
