Kenmore Gas Range 790.72311110: burner ignition failure

This looks like the kind of forum that could help me.
 

One burner on my father’s Kenmore 790.72311110 Gas Range doesn’t ignite properly. 

 

I think I need to replace the “Spark Ignition Switches with Wiring Harness” part 316580614, but wanted to seek comments before doing so. 

 

Here’s how the problem manifests: 

• If I turn Burners 1, 2, or 3 to ignite, then all four igniters spark simultaneously, including Burner 4, gas flows to the burner, and the burner lights correctly
• If I turn Burner 4 to ignite, the gas will flow, but none of the igniters spark and the burner doesn’t ignite
• If I turn both Burners 1 and 4 to ignite at the same time, both burners will ignite simultaneously and correctly

 

I infer that this means that the wiring harness has a fault with Burner 4 that prevents it from signalling to the igniters. My guess is that replacing the “Spark Ignition Switches with Wiring Harness” will fix the problem. This looks to be a fairly simple repair.

 

Are there any suggestions for other things I should check before I attempt this repair?

You are correct,  in that the switch harness is at fault.  A trick you can do, is to turn on the gas at the number four knob but then use any other knob simultaneously to activate ignition on all burners, to light the burner with the malfunctioning switch.  The correct repair is going to be switch harness
