Posted a few years ago about needing my gas safety valve rebuilt, got that done - I have read thermostats operate differently on smaller gas ranges, but though my baked stuff has turned out okay, seems like thermostat overshoots a lot, and I notice that when I try turning the thermostat down from 350 - to 300 - to 250 - 200 - the dial thermometer I have towards the front of the rack doesn't show the temp going down, and when I pull the broiler door open the flame is still burning on the burner itself - Premier's parts number catalogs don't seem to go that far back, nor repair parts places, one poster stated the part number seems like ti may be incorrect, part missing - Premier doesn't have a thermostat for this, but they made standing-pilot 24" Premier stoves until recently, I would think there should be a cross reference where some of these would work.  I am going to try to disassemble the range thermostat to get a pic of it, TOAC stated they may be able to rebuild it, but normally it is a bit too new for them to be able to do that? Thoughts?

For a 1980-era Premier 24" gas range, sourcing a direct replacement thermostat can be challenging due to discontinued parts. However, cross-compatible thermostats from brands like Robertshaw or White-Rodgers may serve as suitable substitutes. It's crucial to match specifications such as capillary length and temperature range. Consulting with appliance parts suppliers or professionals experienced in vintage range repairs can help identify a compatible thermostat.

Thanks, got the floodstop unit (new, replaced ancient one) fixed - turns out some of these new units were installed with the gears backwards in the motor, so when you hit closed, the valve would open, and open the valve would close - so when you poured a bit of water on the sensor, it would OPEN the valve and not CLOSE it as it should - victory! So now on to try to get the stove apart enough to take a pic of the thermostat to see if it is rebuildable or not, the company that rebuild my gas safety valve said it may be too current of a model to be rebuildable, but worth a shot to see a pic. If not, then it looks like I will be looking at going your way with trying to find a replacement. It is surprising to me that since they made these stoves with standing pilot until just a couple of years ago that a modern replacement thermostat would not work, now they are all electronic ignition.
