I have a 12-year-old Maytag Centennial Washing machine (model MVWC200XW3)  that's not leaking or banging but it's very loud on the spin cycle.

If by loud, you mean sounds like a jet taking off in spin and the noise ramps up the faster it spins?

If so, that sounds like a bearing in the gearcase and the only fix is to replace the gearcase. It's not a terribly difficult job but the part alone is upwards of $300. There are videos on YouTube showing how to do it if you're so inclined.
