Rich Armstrong Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Manufacturer: GE Type of Appliance: Refrigerator Model Number: GDS18LBABB Have you validated the model number at an online parts site like Repair Clinic? (yes or no): Yes Have you watched the video on how to search for manuals and have you searched the Downloads section prior to posting this request? (yes or no): Yes Possible FZ evaporator fan failure. It’s not hitting ice. I believe all components are located on the top of the FZ compartment. I haven’t done a repair on this type of refrigerator. Single door, bottom mount freezer. It must be pre 2007, GESmartHQ does not have the manuals. Thanks Captain
Rich Armstrong Posted May 20 Author Posted May 20 Captain the evaporator and fan might be below the floor of FF compartment in the area between the FZ compartment and the FF. I can hear the Evaporator fan equally in both compartments. Odd.

Captain Dunsel Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Those can be nightmares. Make sure the drain is clear and tilt the front legs up higher to give the defrost water a more of a chance to get out of the freezer before going back into the cooling mode!
