Maytag MHW5500FW1 User Interface Panel craziness

Maytag MHW5500FW1 front load washer acting like somebody is holding the buttons down.  Accepts user input while randomly changing other options.  ON/Off reactive touch button does not work.  Dial acting as on/off as well as it's normal duties sort of.  Will start cycle then beep trying to change options, may finish cycle or not.  Also acts like the Delay Start button is constantly pressed cycling thru 1hr -12hr delay steps.

Removed and inspected the User Interface, wiped down but was clean and dry, no improvement.  Thank you.

Really trying to determine failure of User Interface or Control Unit or both.  The Diagnostic mode has two methods of initiating, using the Spin Soil and Temperature buttons or rotating the dial CCW and CW.  Both methods could not reach Diagnostic mode.   So am I left with the most expensive part Control Unit to replace?   It's OK I can take it.

Thank you in advance.
