Opinion on Whirlpool fridge vs GE, if that's ok.

We have had 4 fridges in under 10 years, about to buy our 5th, Two LG's within a year, a GE, and then Kenmore Elite(LG). Done with LG forever.

We don't want the water dispenser, and are getting french door, bottom freezer. Pretty much have it narrowed down to Whirlpool and GE, just curious what some of you repair guys think, just for the heck of it. I think we have refrigerator PTSD, so not sure I trust any of them, lol.

Thanks in advance, if this question is even allowed. :)

what I have learned in 2.5 years of MST training and being on jobs... I service more Whirlpool / kitchen aid refrigerators than any other LG/GE and Samsungs as well plus Frigidaire and some Liebherr... all have their bs what I think is buy one with the least bells 100% don't get any water or ice dispenser on the front try to get one that you can bypass the filter and buy a generic water filter for outside the refrigerator... I own an LG and while I had 2 issues no compressor and all the companies have gone to the linear compressors in some if not all the models.. LG got sued and they did fix it..right now I believe whirlpool has a class action against them... if you buy a new one also avoid the ice maker in the door and in the refrigerated section... I a guy I know has all Beko he likes.

GE is owned by Hairer which is owned the Chinese gov so I say no... same with costco midea insignia Hiscene etc... also make sure you're not the cause by overloading not installing allowing for airflow having pets and not cleaning the rear condenser etc... customers really act stupid and are quite incompetent in general with appliances.. No offense but I see it every single day.. Honestly shocks me... also most important buy a surge protector get an electrician to install a whole house one or two if you have a sub panel the electric grid blows up more refrigerators than anything

Thanks for the input. We did end up getting a basic Whirlpool. We don't like the water/ice in the door. We almost bought the GE Profile, but they have that water pitcher in the door, and some reviews said they leak, or auto shutoff doesn't work, etc. Just another thing to fail, AND, you lost all that space on the door. The one we bought has the icemaker in the freezer....fairly basic.
