I have two new motors for Maytag dryer but deciphering the production dates is something I have no knowledge of besides a date chart for the machine serial numbers.

One date is J03AF and the other is A04AF 

Using the chart method I would decipher the last two digits as 2002, March but have no clue about the other digits. Is there a standard way they are dated one can decipher the whole date?

The date codes on the motors in NO WAY correspond to the codes for figuring out the build date of the machine by serial#.

Most of the motors are manufactured by only a hand full of companies, (such as Emerson, Fasco, Packard Inc., and a few others that I don't remember or I'm not aware of).

You would have to determine the manufacture of the motor and start looking there for how to decode the date code.
