Suntec fuel unit

Hey there,

I installed new Suntec 7000 series, 3450 RPM, single-stage fuel unit [oil pump] on a Beckett AF oil burner yesterday because of a leak at the shaft seal. I noticed that this new fuel unit seems to make more of a high-pitched gear whine than the Webster pumps I’m used to. It’s not really that loud, but is definitely noticeable, to me anyway, up close to the burner. I’ve checked the alignment and clearance of the blower wheel to the housing and couplings and all seem fine. Is anyone in the forum familiar with this brand? I was wondering if this is just normal for Suntec, or am I likely looking at problems with this unit down the road?

Thanks,

Kyess

Yes, Suntec is a little bit cheaper then Webster.

Thanks for the reply scottthewolf,

I guess I'll let it go as is. Hopefully it will get quieter as it wears in. Don't want to use any more Suntec.

Regards,

Kyess
