Fisher & Paykel DGGX1 Gas Dryer no Heat

This stuipd $700 just over 2 year old dryer just out of warranty doesn't heat up anymore. It runs through all the cycles and finishes up and stops and all it still wet. This thing has been sucking for drying for like 6 months taking longer and longer. The lint trapped is always cleaned out and I am going to run new exhaust vent since part of it is that crappy white flex junk. I know the unit it not letting gas in for sure since I do not hear any clicking or flame burning. This thing is very quite though, but the gas meter does not turn on so I know it is not heating up. This thing in suppose to have less parts than a normal dryer and easier to fix but I not impressed so far. I have had way cheaper machines work better. The washer is great no glitches. We only have just me and my wife so this thing only run like 4-5 smalll loads a week.

I need help on what to test and repalce on this beast, I did disconnect it from the exhaust hose to see if that will help but no dice, it blows a lot of air though.

Thanks

Howie

You don't have access to the link?

It asks me for a user and password. This is what is says..

The server servicetechhelp.com at Paid Members Only requires a username and password.

The documents on STH are for techs in the business only, it is a paid membership site so no one can access the manuals unless they are in the trade and are a paid member...sorry...Pegi

Howie, I sent you a link to several F-P dryer service manuals on the Xdrive.  One of them will probably be for your model.  Let me know if you need something more.

The burner is much like any other regular White-Rodgers "M" style gas valve/ignitor/flame sensor setup. With the DGGX1 you can pull the front off to observe. There's two little rubber covers on the deck which attach it to the  cabinet. Remove those and lift the deck up enough to get the two screws which attach the front. Push the sides of the front panel out and remove the front. Get the top back on and fire it up. Does the ignitor glow? Flame sensor open? Gas valve click/open? Got power going to the burner, etc.?

thanks for the help. I will make this thing run again

I did get my dryer up and running. It was just the ignitor that was cracked. That thing does not have many parts in it. In total it costed a whole $35 to fix the machine. Thanks for all the help.

The "skinny" flat ignitor used in some Maytag dryers and Ruud/Rheem furnaces also fits these.
