Running a hot tub at low temperature

I know this is a bit of an unusual question - but I figured if anybody would know the answer one of you all would. We are about to put in a hot tub (a big appliance, right?) and I was wondering if there was any reason not to run it (for use, not storage) at a low temperature, especially during the summer. I think my daughter will want to spend full-time in there, and I don't want her doing that in hot water. I understand hot tub chemicals are different from pool chemicals - would it work using the HT chemicals but setting it to more like pool temperatures?

In the winter, of course, we'd run it at higher temperatures. Kinda backwards, but it makes sense to me. :-)

I have one that we usually turn down in the summer to about  96 degrees. Sounds hot,but it'll cool you off  and make your teeth chatter. I treat the chemicals the  same as in the winter. Also, Arm and Hammer super washing soda is the same thing as ph increaser. And a lot cheaper.
