Kitchen Aid Dishwasher poor wash

Need help with this dishwasher: Kitchen Aid KUDI01ILWH3.

Sysmptoms: poor wash performance.

Fill valve is fine, it fills up to just below the element, plenty of water.

Lots and lots of bio gookus on door. And in wash tub.

Is it possible the impeller is clogged? Do you have to take the motor off of the pump to get the pump out, or can they both be lifted up as one piece motor and pump assembly together?

Is there a service manual anywhere for this type of KA DW?

If you're seeing lots of gookus in the basin water, I'm suspecting the pump  isn't pumping out.  It may be burned out, its impeller may be jammed, the hose may be plugged (especially if the drain hose is connected to a disposal-- that connection port is a common plug point).  Check those out.  More help on poor cleaning here.

There's a service manual for this dishwasher in the Xdrive (or even at Servicematters.com).  But you probably won't need it for this problem.
