Maytag Neptune Top Load Washer - FAV6800AWW

Our Neptune has just begun to exhibit an issue where the time remaining in the cycle stops at some arbitrary time.  e.g. 11 minutes and then flashes between 11 and 12 minutes while the beeper goes off every so often.

Every time the beeper rings the load level changes in sequence, when it reaches the bottom it proceeds to the top and starts again.  There's about 1 second between the beeps.

The start/pause button flashes but will not turn off the washer if pressed.  The washer just beeps and the process described above continues.

I've taken a quick look at the PCB for the control panel to see if I had a loose cable but everything appeared to be in place and well seated.

These symptoms don't quite fit with what I've seen for other folks, any ideas?

Howdy, Hobosan.  Here's the Service Manual and Tech Sheet for this machine.  Start with a "Quick Service Cycle Test" of the machine (pg. 15 in the service manual).  Lemme know whatcha see.

[align=left]I ran the quick cycle which resulted in a PA - or pass.  I'm going to run a couple of the other tests to see if I can expose the culprit.

Well, the quick diag cycle seems to have fixed the problem that we were seeing.  The only thing that seems strange is that the defaults for the washer when selecting a wash type have changed.  However we're able to select out desired selections like load size etc and the washer is now running through the cycles in their entirety which is good given the size of my family.

Thanks for the help.
