Specific recommendations for new dryer?

Visiting my in-laws here in the Great White North.

Every time I visit, I pull apart their dryer to try to bring it back to "normal".  After 20+ years, I think this one has finally had it.  Besides, it's *smaller* capacity than their washer (?!)

What specific make/model would you recommend as a replacement??

Currently they're using Electric, but there is also a Natural Gas connection available (already plumbed).

Large capacity would be a big plus.

Let 'er rip with the opinions!

Thanks,

The Whirlpool-built dryer with the lint filter on the top panel is best dryer out there today.  It's a tank.  I've repaired models of this dryer that were over 30 years old that only needed the rolling kit (belt, rollers, and idler); still running strong.

Not sure whether these links will work (they may have a session ID in them), but are any of these the ones you mean:

Whirlpool 7.0 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer   263 672 002

Mfg. number YWED6200SW

Whirlpool 29" Top Load Dryers   263 672 642

Mfg. number YWED5700SW

Whirlpool 7.0 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer   263 672 102

Mfg. number YWED6400SW

They all look quite different on the outside -- not sure whether they share the same guts.

Yep, all three are the type I'm referring to.  Of those three, I would opt for the middle one (Mfg. number YWED5700SW) because it appears to have mechanical user controls rather than the troublesome beep-beep board.  Costs less, too!  :dude:

Thank you again, honourable one!
