New window a/c freezing up ACQ304XS

This window unit was just put in a few days ago and the evap. coils are freezing up. With it being brand new, the coils are not stopped up. What else could cause this? Could the a/c not be getting enough current?

Assuming the thermostat is not locked on so the compressor  cannot cycle when the outside temps are below 70 degrees need to get this to an authorized servicer, this is normally caused by the unit being low on freon, ...if you do not have the cc locked on and the fan speed set to low...if the room gets too cold it will freeze up  if it cannot cycle and not enough air flow to get the cold air out away from the evaperator coil in the front.

place the temperature probe into a glass of ice water

if the compressor does not shut down then the cold control is faulty

Hey,

You could of purchased an oversized ac unit. if the unit is too big for the room it can get to cold and freeze up.
