Hi all,

A few days ago our Goodman GUE100-5 Rev S furnace quit.  It will not fire [no pilot light].  The ticking sound is not present when powered and so on.

It was working great then suddenly quit.

Any suggestions?  Here are some photos.

Start with the very basics, cleaning or replacing the spark elements.

See that you have line power to the unit and 24 vac out of the transformer.

See that you have 24 volts going into the ignition module.

Verify that you have high voltage coming from the ignition module where the orange wire originates.

Make sure that all of your limit switches are in tact.

That will give you a start.

Let us know.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Which one is the transformer?  Right side box in the photo next to what looks to be a relay?

I tried steel wool on the spark elements and it cleaned them up but still no luck.  I will try to find a place that carries the parts locally..

Picture #4. the brown armored cable carrying the multi-colored thin wires that are screwed into the device on the right side of the picture.

Measure voltage from the red wire (I hate describing stuff like this with colors by the way...the machine is color blind and could really care less) and Common on the same device.   If you cant find Common © on the device, use the  bare metal of the case of the machine.

Hey,

Looks to me like the ceramic on the spark ignitior is broken.Bad ignitor no spark. The lower pics wouldn't develope so I couldn't check  out all the pics. And is that a burn mark right above and to the left of the ignitor on the metal bracket?
