The fan motor in my daughter's HVAC system is dead. She had a service guy come out (for a nominal charge) and gave her an estimate for $500+ to replace the motor & cap. Not that she is cheeper than I am, but she is on a somewhat limited income at the moment and wants to keep her house so her dogs can poop at home and not in the park.

Anyway what I really need is to get a crossreference to make sure I get the right motor to put in. I live 5 hours away and ~$100 is better for her than the 500. And of course if Dad buys it on the internet he probably will forget to collect from her anyway.

I actually found the manuals for the unit, but no specifics on the motor shaft. It would be nice if the fan actually fits on the new motor.  The motor is 1/3 hp, single phase, 208v, 3 speed w/ext cap. I have found a few that meet these specs, but there are differences in the shaft length and possibly diameter. Of course I don't have the numbers directly from the motor.

I have been unable to find anything on the net that directly matches this model A/C unit with a fan motor so I need a little help.

OEM part number is 621830, specs are not any better than what you gave. Counter Clockwise rotation as viewed from the lead end.

Most direct drive blower motors are 1/2" shaft, the length isn't usuallly a problem because most universal replacement motors are 4-5" which would be more than long enough for a 2 1/2 ton blower.

Voltage, HP, and speed(1075 normally) is all you should need, rotation is typically reversible.

An Emerson #1972, GE #3586, Fasco D923 and AOSmith #D1036 are all 208-230VAC, 1/3HP, 3 Speed, Reversible rotation, 5.5"Diameter Body, Mutlimount configuration.

Capacitor sold separately

The part breakdown does not show a separate motor mount so likely the old motor has the bracket spot welded to the motor housing so bring along a motor mounting bracket such as a Fasco FM55

Thanks for the reply. This confirms the shaft info I needed. Basically I knew the rest, but was unsure of the shaft diameter & length. I was pretty sure that the Fasco D923 or Emerson 1972 would work from what I could find in online stores, but there is always that doubt when the old one is not staring you in the face.
