Carrier Weathermake 8000 mod 58WAV091-F

Couldn't keep furnace running, repair company replaced cracked flame sensor.  He also noticed the squealing I've been ignoring, hoping it'll either go away or get a better pitch.  Repair gentleman states it is my inducer (draft) motor.  It is not drawing high amps but if squealing gets louder will need to replace.  HA, Part # 318984-733 W/LAH-AAD05 (carbon copy hard to make out).  Did make out estimated cost....$319.  How hard is this to replace?  I know which end of a screwdriver to use, depending on if I need it for screws or nails :D, but I am wondering if this is something I should/could attempt, when the time comes.

It doesn't look like you would save much doing it yourself and I would recommend the sooner the better. It sounds like you have pushed your luck already. It is a matter of when not if the bearings finally sieze up.

Here is a look at p/n 318984-753 - I couldn't match the -733 number you gave.

As for should/could attempt - only you can make that call. If you are certain you can do the job and that the furnace is operating safely when you finish.

Appreciate your words of caution.  I will investigate this further before I attempt it.  Doing it myself won't save me anything if I melt the furnace down doing it wrong!
