Honeywell Electronic Aquastat Control

Mr. Lee Fix

Recommended Posts

Just finished installing a new Weil Mclane oil fired hot water boiler which came with a Honeywell Electronic Aquastat Control #L7224/L7248.  Boiler temp reaches 180*F for the baseboard heat, however the domestic hot water seems to fire the boiler everytime you open the faucet and it fires often, with seemingly a 10*F threshold for firing.  This appears to be the default setting.  I don't have, nor did I get any info for instituting a change for increasing the difference in water temp firing (25*F or so would be fine).

The boiler is a WTGO-4 with a tankless hot water coil.  I know that currently I have immediate recovery, but this is too small a differnce for me and it results in near continuous firing when it's being used for domestic water.  Does anyone know the procedure, or know where I can find the directions.  I couldn't find squat on the Honeywell site.  I'm not a technician, but I can do this stuff without a problem (once I know how).  Thanks.

Thank you.  I had just found a small pamphlet on the Aquastat which is helpful, however your info should do the trick.  It will need to wait a little however as it is now time to do the rear disc brake rotors, pads, grease, etc.  Thank you very much.

An offering for the Gods of Brewology will be forthcoming.  Domo Arigato,  Mr. Roboto!
