I have a front loading washer that won't spin in the spin cycle.  Everything else works up to that point.  Is there a service manual for this?  On a top load I would be looking at the lid switch, so on the front load the door switch?

Thanks,

Wan

The washer is agitating in both directions during the wash cycle and after the wash cycle the pump pumps out the water, but the pump never shuts off.  Is there a float switch, or is the pressure swicth that is on the wiring diagram control the pump?  I looked at the wiring diagram and I don't see anything for the spin cycle or what would keep it from going into a spin cycle.

Thanks,

Wan

do you have the model with a digital readout display ?

are there any error codes ?

does all the water pump out ?

did you do any diagnostic tests ?

The Tech sheet that came with the washer had a wiring diagram and all of the error codes and their meanings, but it didn't tell you how to obtain the error codes!  The tech sheet that you sent me explained all of that :).  So, the answers to your questions are

No digital read out. Pump pumps out all of the water, and I have an error code E43.  And that tells me that I have a bad control board.

Thank you for all your help,

Wan

Don't be so quick to believe you have a bad control board, (and I'm sure that is the error code you're receiving).

I just had to do clean up after someone who didn't know what they were doing and diagnosed a bad control board then was never heard from again. After a month with no washer and no word from other tech,(I figure he wasn't sure enough of his diagnoses to order a control board and have to eat the cost when it didn't fix the problem), I was called in.

Error code in fact was E43 which says bad control board. But from what I saw the tub do and the actions I was pretty sure it was a door latch/lock problem, (I just had two other just recently with same thing).

Wax motor in door switch goes bad so door can't be securely mechanically locked, so machine will never go into a spin, and for some reason it throws the E43 code instead of E47?,(bad PTC in door latch).

Put the machine in drain/spin mode and start it. after about 2 minutes of the pump running and maybe the tub going back and forth a few times, pull the plug on the machine then try to gently open the door, (don't force it, pull just like you would normally). If the door opens and isn't mechanically locked then you have a bad door latch/lock assembly.

Read this discussion,

http://www.applianceguru.com/view_topic.php?id=15509&forum_id=2

it explains the same thing and also has a cheaper fix instead of replacing the complete door lock/latch assembly for $50 you can replace just the wax motor for about $20.

So, how many control boards do we have on this machine?

When I first ran a diagnostics I got an E43 which says to replace the control board.  Do they mean  the one with all of the selections and LEDs on it?  That didn't work so I replaced the door lock/switch.  That didn't work so I then ran another diagnostics and got a E59 Fault condition =( No Tacho signal for 3 seconds) and it tells you to refer to test 12, which tells you to ohm out the motor and windings and everything checked out.  Then it tells me if all these readings are correct to replace the speed control board.  I don't see a speed control board anywhere in the parts breakdown.  Are they refering to the motor control board? If so,  that didn't fix my problem either :(

When I first did the diagnostic test the spin cycle wouldn't work when it came to that part of the diagnostic test.  After changing the control board the spin cycle works in diagnostics only.

Thanks for any help I can get.

Wan
