We have a 50 Gallon Tall GE Smartwater gas water heater that was installed (new)briefly then removed because we needed a forced vent system to pass inspection.  This water heater has been sitting in the garage for 3 years now.  Should it be OK to hook up and use now?  Anything I should check for with regards to rust or deposits? Thanks for the help!

YOU SHOULD BE FINE  if i was doing it i would set the temp high(after install and fill ) first to kill anything off that might be growing in any water left in the bottom and then do a flush before setting the temp where i wanted it or useing any water from it
