LG Dryer Model DLE2512W

Got a call from someone who is going down the list of anyone who can service her dryer. The first call returned came from a guy who said LG dryers are too modern and complicated and she'd have to call the factory for service. Obviously this guy can't figure out things he's never seen before, and doesn't have the help of fine people like you pointing him in the right direction. Even if it were an absurdly complex machine, the problem doesn't present itself as rocket science.

So she's had the dryer about a year, and now is getting a burning smell from it. She may have already checked the exhaust, but I'm not positive, and what effect it had if she did it.

So what are the possibilities, where should I look first and what should I test?

Thanks for help and suggestions.

Tim
