I posted this question on the other page, but now that I see there's a "special" place for us enrolled idjits I'll do it all over again.

On this washer the lid switch linkage (a flat metal bar that connects the lid button to the switch cluster) is laying down and not in contact with the switches. I pulled a plastic insert out that the metal linkage runs thru and it looks like there's possibly a piece broken off. I don't see any spring either that would return the linkage to open the switch when the lid is opened. I rigged it with a zip tie to hold it sort-of in place so the washer will run but it doesn't return when the lid is opened.

The switch itself seems ok as it kinka works now with the linkage jammed. Any ideas for a po ol redneck? Thanks
