I  have a dishwasher that won't clean the top rack of dishes.  Can somebody explain how this machine accomplishes that.  I see that the dishwasher has an upper and lower impeller.  Is one for the top rack and one for the lower rack?  I have a 60 mile drive (one way) to check this out and I would really like to make the drive once, if at all possible!

Thanks,

Wan

Is there enough water ?

"Water level should touch the heating element."

Here's a few manuals you may already have:

Model: MDR251RER0

Owner Guide & explanation

Wiring Diagram

maybe Service Manual

I'm not sure about the water level.  I haven't been there yet.  I was trying to pin-point the problem and go their with parts in hand.  Thanks for the info!  I didn't have any of that.

Thanks,

those have a weak shaft on the motor so the impeller could be stripped giving low water pressure

always change that style with a complete motor/pump assembly they are a pain to rebuild

also make sure the center tower pops up and the customer is not blocking it with the dishes

and that machine likes to syphon if drained through a floor so make sure the drain hose goes to a sink

btw.. one impeller is the wash impeller, the other is a drain impeller

BrntToast, this isn't one of the newer Electrolux style, it's the good old D&M style with the metal motor shaft instead of the new great easily stripped plastic motor shaft, (what a great idea, NOT!!!!).

I had to look this up when RegUS mentioned the water level should reach the heating element, (I didn't realize it was an 18" model and thought, since when does a newer Frigidaire dishwasher ever get the water level even near the heating element?).
