Hello all!

Ive got this dishwasher that's killing me,... return calls over and over...Grrrrrrrrr!

Still learning the Bosch ways!!!...I arrived at the customer house with a reported problem of "dishwasher running forever, and water not hot" ...(she was a very observant customer, to notice no really hot water) the first time and hastily diagnosed the problem as a bad high limit...(last call on a Friday..lol..)

that taught me a lesson "lazy man works twice as hard"...lol..

So I split the chassis from the tub and get enough space to pull the high limit and replace it....Customer calls back says "its doing the same thing".....I tell her that I will remedy the problem with no cost to her...the right thing to do...

So I look into the problem further via the Samuri...lol....I do the self test on the unit hold the two buttons turn power on off (sorr cant remeber the whole sequence now) anyways the wash ligh comes on and tells me that its a "heater fault" So I order a new heater assy.....I go back split the thing open again this time even wider!..lol..Put it all back together figure HA!.... DONE!...............Well..... NO!!! Still doing the same thing!???????????????????????????....I have the old heater unit...dont yell at me...lol...I didnt check for continuity....I know,I know,... I should have done this first..before wasting hours of my time and a heater assy...

PLease help me ...someone...anyone?....HELP!

Thanks again all!

Rocket Applaince.....A.K.A....Jolee.

Check the heater relay on the controller circuit board, (I've only worked on a couple of Bosch's so haven't ran into this yet), it's been reported on quite a few cases right here on this forum that the heater relay circuit on the controller boards of the Bosch dishwashers have a nasty habit of burning solder connections off the board.

All-too-common problem with these Boschs. Once again, wet appliances and electronics...

See this post for details on what Willie was pointing you to:

If you do have the burnt connection on the board, you can usually repair it. See this post for help on repairing electronic control boards:

according to the SMU2046UC/14 Wiring Diagram there's (2) High Limits (and the Timer contacts)

its very common to have a broken wire in the door on these models. the best fix is to replace the entire wiring harness but last time i checked they were NLA. If you have a broken wire dont splice it back together, your connection will be at the point that bends and will fail quickly. I purchase wire from a marine shop, it is very fine strand high quality wire. make two splices one a foot above the break and the other a foot below.
