amana gas dryer m# ALG643RAW

My problem on this dryer is that it will only burn for a few minutes, then tumbles for the next half hour or so. I've used the ancient texts chisseled in stone by the Samurai himself to diagnose the problem but still I find myself a little confoosed.

The unit's flame sensor is closed when covered but still closed when I shine a light in it's beady little eye. Does this sensor detect light or heat?

It's an intermittent problem that goes away when it cools. I suspected one of the coils but with the problem coming and going, I'm not sure if my resistance readings on the coils are in it's working or nonworking state, but I do know the flame sensor doesn't react to a flashlight.

Any insight oh wise ones?  Cuzzin Sam

Flame Sensor detects heat.

Intermittent Gas Valve Coil when hot.  Very common problem. Maybe pick up a few sets.
