Like I mentioned above this machine is acting up....the original call was for "leaving water in the tub" I thought easy...clean out pump job...well the pump was totally clean!...I could not get it to repeat the problem,..of course..lol..but,..as I was testing it,....it started to make a really loud whine as it started to spinI couldnt determine if it was the motor making the noise or the pulley area of the washer making noise???...Is there a bearing in the tub that would go bad and make that noise????....

I canceled the cycle and put it in diagnostic mode and it came up with a error code of "F-28" it did not have that code when I arrived, and the customer said she had not seen that code or ANY code before...I read the tech sheet in reference about that code. Could that be what is causeing the noise? The noise is similiar to the noise the machines make normally in spin but its like its amplified!!! I went out to the truck to get the laptop and could hear it!

Any input would be great! Thanks all!

Rocket.

Ugh, the F-28 nightmare! Here's what the manual sez aboot it:

The communication between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and

the Motor Control Unit (MCU) cannot be sent correctly.

Possible Causes/Procedure

1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.

2. Check wire harness connections to the MCU, the motor, and

Central Control Unit (CCU).

– Check connections of the CCU board within the housing.

– Make sure all grounding switches are engaged.

3. Check the drive system for any worn or failed components.

4. Plug in washer or reconnect power.

5. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic Test or any

cycle.

6. Check the MCU by looking for operations of the drive motor.

7. Check the drive motor for powered rotations.

8. Check that the serial harness at the MCU is not mounted

upside down. The wires should be to the left when facing

the MCU connectors.

The wire harness has been a problem on these and can cause this problem, too. Try removing the harness connectors from both the CCU and the MCU, clean the pins )ruby red pencil eraser), and reseat the harness connectors. If the F-28 goes away, then at least you're back to dealing with the original complaint.
