I am replacing an old ignition control module-White-Rodgers 50E47-60 with aWhite-Rodgers 50E47-843. This new module comes with program keys-little circuits you plug into the side of the box.My question is:is the program key for testing only?Am I to remove it or leave it in?It is in right now and my furnace is cycling on and off every minute or so.

Also instructions say to remove jumper from FP terminal and cut at circuit board.(referring to new module)Is this really neccessary or can I just wrap some electricians tape around it?

 Thanks

Thank you,I do have all that info, but still can't tell whats up.The green light remains on and then it just shuts off and recycles all over again, about every 30 seconds to a minute.

The sensor is not that expensive. Replace it.

It's the one thing all three rapirmen agreed on-not the sensor.

You gotta make sure on this dude you have a solid tight corrosion free ground to burner. No loose connections. I am looking at the pdf right now. If the flame probe(sensor) is new and good then the burner is not grounded good enough or you have a defective module.
