I have a S/S that is too warm.  Everything seems to be working except the evaporator motor.  It is spinning, but very slow, so I checked the voltage and have 7.5 volts.  According to the wiring diagram the 120 volts should be coming from the Adaptive defrost PC Board.  Would it be safe to say that this board is my problem?  Is this evaporator fan suppose to be variable speed???

Thanks, Wan

looks like a 120v AC Evaporator Fan motor...

looks like a bad ADC Board

If it was my own fridge, I'd move the Evaporator Fan wire from the J11 connection to the J6 Compressor/Condenser Fan connection...

Thanks regUS, I'll try that.

OK, according to the service manual It says that if there is 120 volts coming from the freezer or food compartment controls J4 and J10, and J9 and J10 that I should have 120 volts between J10 and J11 to operate the evaporator fan motor.  And if no voltage is present to replace the ADC board.  So, I replaced the ADC and I still only have 7 volts at the evaporator fan.  According to the wiring there is nothing else that I can see that would give me a voltage drop other than the ADC board.

Any input would very much be appreciated!

and the Fan resistance is not "shorted" ?

check the voltage from J11 to chassis (ground) should be 120v

check the voltage from J10 to chassis (ground) should be 0v

on the left "Wiring Diagram" it shows:

The Neutral for the Fan has to go through (3) connectors before it gets to the Neutral "splice"

The "power" for the Fan has to go through (3) connectors before comes from the ADC.

This ended up being a bad ADC board and a bad motor.  I don't know if the motor failed and took out the ADC board or what.
