old lennox gas furnace blower motor

Well my son rents and his blower squealed to a stop. The landlord replaced it with another one that won't start. It's a simple capacitor run 115 volt motor. the original was 1/3 HP, the replacement is 1/2 HP 1125 RPM HT48 frame.  Will a regular 48 frame motor fit? I can't figure out what the HT might mean. Looks like a 1/2" shaft though. I went to look at the local hardware and most motors there are 48Y, do you think one would fit? I need to call the landlord to see about getting reimbursed too. It's 10 degrees out now.... He said he won't do anything until tomorrow.

How many wires does it have and what color are they?

Actually the landlord finally fixed it. I  had picked up a new motor and even though it was a 48 frame the mounting bracket wouldn't quite fit around it. It was a three point mount wire cage that held the motor. The old motor was a single speed, the new is  a 3 speed. Wiring wasn't my problem though. I just wonder if Lennox used some odd type of mounting to keep you buying their parts. Thanks for the help

Lennox is well known for "building in" brand loyalty.  You can look at their motors side by side with a generic or one from the same manufacturer; however, Lennox tweaks their parts just enough so that nothing but theirs fits right.  That's the "built in" loyalty.

You really do have to get it from them or cuss your way through jamming any other replacement in.  Just one of those little things that they never tell you before you buy their equipment.
