Hi folks, I've been playing with this refrig and it had several probs - no ice being made but before that, it made lots but wouldn't make crushed, and, it wouldn't give any water at the door.

I checked the freezer temp and found it to be 10 degrees, so I cleaned the stopped up coil. let it sit overnight and found plenty of ice the next day. Tadaaa.

Then I supplied power to the dispenser side of the water valve and it dispensed water so, between the no water and no crushed ice clues I decided to change the dispenser board.

Now I have crushed ice, ice cubes at the door but still no water. I also looked for wiring issues at the main board and all the way to the solonoid but came up empty.

I'm suspecting the main board now, but I'm not real confident of my suspecting abilities. Any advice? Thanks, Cuzzin Sam

Hello, my suspecting friend. As I was reading your delightful narrative of the problem, I was left wondering whether or not you have used your meter to check for voltage at the dispenser solenoid valve?

Hello again, my confident friend. I just noticed that our mephitic host has recently posted something on this very problem. Come, have a look.

thanks mister moosta but I allready read that one and, caution - I'm assuming again - when I applied 120 volts directly to the solonoid it gave me water so I'm deducing now, but if 120volts + water, then no water + no 120volts right?

Water Valve controlled by Main Board

If I had your email address, I could send you the Service Manual ..

Remove the toe panel and disconnect the fitting that you'll see on the left hand side.  Then call for water.  If you get water all over the floor, you have a frozen line in the door.  If you're not getting water there, we need to dig further.

Another possibility is that it's frozen in the tubing of the fridge side.

Also, there is a plug under the toe panel.  Look for corrosion or broke wire.
