Model # SAV3656AWW.  This washer agitates the entire cycle.  When it should be spinning you can raise the lid and it will spin and drain.  Replaced the timer and still same problem. Can the speed selection switch cause this or is there another problem?

Thanks......

I'm not sure if I understand the symptoms ...

The Motor should stop if the Lid is raised..

The Timer controls the direction of the Motor (and thus Agitate or Spin)

Does it Agitate normally in both Agitate & Spin Cycles ?

Or is it trying to Agitate and Spin at the same time?

RegUS,  it agitates normally.  But, it agitates through all cycles.  Once the lid is raised while the timer is in the spin cycle it then spins when the lid is lowered.

Thanks for the reply....

OOOHHH....

The Neutral Drain problem ...

Is that the correct Timer ?

The Motor must pause for a few seconds (Timer function) before going into Spin.

Just to let everone know, the second timer fixed the problem.  It really makes me think hard when you put on a part out of the box and it is bad.

thanks...........

That is exceedingly rare to get a bad timer. Unless you're buying rebuilds. I have had problems with those.
