I'm going to change a defrost heater and thermostat on this beast next week.  GE techline is telling me I have to pull out the entire upper compressor tray but they don't have a service manual to share.  Does anyone have anything that would help?

I sincerely appreciate it.

i looked @ the breakdown for this mutha- does not look like most of the many ge built-ins i have seen... most of the ones i have seen access the evap coil, heater, drain pan ,bimetal thru the top of the freezer compartment, inside. this was most certainly designed by a sadist with a sick sense of humor.

the breakdown does appear to have these components in the compressor tray...sorry to be no help at all.
