This oven the igniter came on and no flame. So like a good parts changing monkey I switched out the igniter, still no flame.I'm assuming(and U know what that means)that it's the gas valve. How do I check this (yeah I know I should already know how)and could it be anything else. Which I don't think it can be....Thanx again Dan

PS Man,this day I looked @ 6 appliances. 5 of them where less than 5 years old and 3 of those were less than 2 and not easily (yet) repairable. The last one was a 30 yr. old Whirlpool Gas Dryer(I replaced the belt) that the owners replaced the matching washer with a GE front loader.Boy this industry is getting really scary. What's it gonna be like in 10 yrs.I guess they'll just weld everything shut so we can't fix em'.Wow !!!!!!!!

If the Oven was in storage for any length of time without the "rubber cap" on the Gas Line Stub,

moisture may have gotten into the Valve and rusted it.

Oven (flat) Ignitor should draw  3.2A  to  3.6A

The Gas Valve (in series with the Ignitor) should measure about 1 OHM and read about 3.3 volts.

If no voltage, the coresponding Ignitor wire may have become shorted to ground.

So the igniter was glowing so we know we know there's voltage and if I measure The Gas Valve (in series with the Igniter) and get 1 OHM and it reads about 3.3 volts.I should still think it's the valve ? as I already changed out the old igniter

yes, as long as they paid their GAS BILL (wouldn't be the first time !)

Gas supply is ON and working ?

Cooktop works ?
