Tried lighting gas furnace 6 times and pilot would not remain lit. Finally held the pilot button on for over 2 minutes and pilot stayed on.  Does pilot generator need to be replaced or is it getting weak?

Is the Pilot Flame a nice blue color ?

Is the Thermocouple in the Pilot Flame "nicely" ?

Flame is blue and is impinging on 1/4" of the pg.  Furnace is one year old.

Not good enough my fuzzy little friend. Thy thermocouple or thy Thermopile (Whatever one you may have) must be in the flame much more than that , I am truly sad to say.

The, "pilot generator" needs alot of flame exposure :sunny: to generate the required power. Check that it maybe has not slipped down a wee bit.
