Maytag YMED9700SB0 dryer cycle ends before clothes dry - lint?

Model YMED9700SB0, Serial MT35 01180, type CADT-ELE-2406024-EL54

1. Subject dryer, with electronic controls, is ending its cycle and shutting off before the clothes are dry. They're not wet, just a little damp. This occurs whether a Normal (medium heat) or Heavy Duty (high heat) automatic cycle is used, and regardless of selecting a dryness level of "More". The indicator lights do progress from "Wet" to "Damp" to "Dry" (to "cycle complete") over the course of the cycle; it seems as if the dryer thinks the clothes are dry before they actually are. How may I narrow in on the culprit?

2. Subject dryer has seen heavy use since it was purchased new, and has never been opened and cleaned. Given periodic buildup of lint sufficient to prop open the flap door on the exhaust flange outside the house, it seems likely to me there's substantial buildup in the duct and in the dryer itself between the lint screen and the exhaust outlet. Is there a takeapart manual for this model readily accessible, or some instructions?

Thanks!

YMED9700SB0 Tech Sheets

Maytag Epic Gas & Electric Dryer

Check / clean the Dryer Vent system

Disconnect the Dryer Vent and check for good air-flow there and where it exits the house.

Check the Vent air temperature at the back of the Dryer.

Dryer Vent

Vent should be rigid metal.

Short lengths of flexible metal may be OK, if not crimped when moving the Dryer into place.

NO plastic

NO PVC

NO screws

Foil Duct Tape is OK.

With an empty load, Timed Dry, High Heat, the vent temperature should cycle

somewhere between 135F and 160F

Hey, terrific, thanks. Looks like all the tech info I should need. The exhaust system consists of a 90° elbow off the dryer, approx 6 feet of flexible aluminum running vertically, a 90° elbow, and approx 8 feet of flexible aluminum running horizontally. Sounds like it'd be a good idea to replace most of those vertical and horizontal runs with rigid metal; guessing the corrugations in the flex duct accumulate lint like crazy. Thanks for the temp guidelines.
