Ice bucket broken.  Where motor stabs into side of ice bucket is broken.  Trying to find new bucket but am having trouble.  Can anyone tell me where I can find this part.  Also does anyone know why this piece would break.  Thanks David

Five years too late, but perhaps other will find this useful.  I originally had a Haier model and loved it, but after two years of perfect service, the bucket broke. I tried gluing it and it held for perhaps a day but filed. I liked the design but Haier no longer licensed this model, so I got a Magic Cheff of the same design. Recently the bucket failed on my Magic Chef... I thought I found a replacement bucket...it almost was but there was a slight variation on the end where the microswitch assembly is. There was also another difference, the lug where the motor turns was reinforced with a metal gromet. This bucket was for an ewave brand maker, and if I do ever order a new unit, from seeing this modification, I just may get the ewave.

Now, on to my somewhat temporary fix. I did this repair while waiting for my ewave bucket to arrive (Nov 2015) and it is still working. I was recently doing some plumbing with CPVC pipe and a thought occurred that the primer and glue for the CPVC just might work, and since the stuff is used on drinking water pipes, it shouldn't be too dangerous for the consumption of ice cubes. I'm almost tempted to go out to my outdoor scrap pile and bring in the old Haier and fix that one two, but several winters must have done bad things to it.
