Converting a converted Kenmore gas range

We have been gifted with a Kenmore gas range in excellent condition.  Model # 790.77478792, Serial # VF74110165.  It was converted for propane in its former home.  However, we have natural gas.  We were able to adjust the regulator, but it's the stovetop burners that have us stumped.  How do we return it to its natural (gas) state from its current propane purgatory?  Please help, as this one is going to replace an all-electric Magic Chef Range With Oven Powered By The Fires Of Satan.

If I have to use that Magic Chef one more week, I'm going to have a permanent tic.

Piece of pie, comrade! Remove the burners and feast your Vulcan squinties the cute little brass hood where the gas squirts out of. You'll notice that it's tightened down all the way such that the inner stem fits neatly inside the hole in the brass hood. Loosen this up a few turns so that the hood is lifted above this inner stem. The hoods can be very stiff to turn so don't let that deter you from victory.

It not going to be that easy for our Apprentice to do as you say Samurai.......

Oven broil and bake burner (both seperate), will adjust as instructed but this is a sealed burner cooktop with the sized orifaces that will need to replace to change back to natural gas.

Look all over the range and see if someone hasn't done the nice and correct thing and wired the old oriface set to the range somewhere, (I wire them right by the regulator so they are easy to find for the next person). If you don't find them

check with whoever you received the range from and see if maybe they still have the oriface set for natural gas.

If not then you're going to have to order a new natural gas oriface set.

You need to recheck your model # also these are the only two that came up when I entered: 790.77478792

7907747879 GAS RANGE KENMORE ---- (no info available on this one)

79077478790 GAS RANGE KENMORE

Using the 790.77478790 model which all four surface burners are the same size, (yours with the 2 on the end may have more then one size of burner, some of these units have a powerburner and/or a simmer burner)

if all of your burners are the same size you will need to order 4 orifaces: part# 5303210090 CLICK HERE to order

Also, make sure you remove the extra parts that were installed with the L.P. conversion kit.

Here's a picture of what came in the conversion kit

Here's a link to the picture of the parts break down

CLICK HERE to see picture of parts to remove

see part ref# 47 in the circle, those are the extra L.P. gas parts which will be removed when you install just the natural gas orifaces, ref# 44.

Be careful when remove and installing the orifaces that you don't drop them down into the cooktop. They are suppose to have a little wire spring clip that kind of holds them in your socket but they don't always work that well. I would advise to test fit one of the new natural gas orifaces into your socket and if they don't hold into the socket good put a small piece of tape over the oriface, (sticky side away from oriface), and push oriface and tape up into socket to make it tighter so they don't fall out of the socket.

Thank you thank you thank you!!  The teeny tiny little screws arrived today, and now everything works fine!  Even better, no crispy critters were created in the process.  That's always a plus when working with gas.

And now, to pawn off the old Magic Chef on somebody with more patience than we.
