Unit showed temps of 24 freezer and 58 ff side. Evap fan, condensor fan, and chiller tray fan working. Changed board(didn't have new thermistor on hand) and evap coil frosted up nicely. 24hrs later the same temps are being displayed. Back wall of freezer has significant frost on it. Haven't pulled cover to check evap coil. Tried putting in diagnostic mode ( 5 and 5) but can't get FF display to go lower than 34. Board has been changed in this unit before(GE tech) but owner has complained about ice build up in freezer and motor noise in freezer. Beginning to wonder if evap fan is working intermittently and interrupting air flow to FF side. Open to suggestions. OBTW new style thermistor on evap coil and old style in FF section.

Fan could very well be intermittent ....have you done an actual temp. Check Vs. The display temp?

" ... set the freezer and refrigerator temperature settings to 5.

Simultaneously press and hold all 4 temperature adjustment buttons for approximately 3 seconds.

A flashing 0 in the refrigerator and freezer displays will indicate that the refrigerator is in Self Diagnostic mode ... "

do you already have 31-9072 ?

appl. tech :Thermometer confirms readouts. RegUS: Yup, got it. FF display will only go down to 34. Further attemps to lower to 5 results in a beep each time pushed but display remains at 34. New thermistors on the way.
