The "older style" ADC Boards with the L1 and TEST pins, were prone to faliure

(if your Fridge has that one)

On the newer models, to force Defrost, cycle the Freezer Cold Control 3 times within 6 seconds, and leave on MAX cold.

The newer OEM ADC Boards are designed better, and there'a also a 3rd party model that has a diagnostic LED.
