Odd noise from Whirlpool ET1MTKXKQ00 fridge

Whirlpool upright fridge-freezer

Model ET1MTKXKQ00

Serial EL27728780

Type CT1TFA01

Mfg Date 07-01

Runs and functions just fine, but makes an odd noise intermittently when it's running. Not very loud, but distinctly audible over the compressor (which sounds normal, as does the fan inside the freezer). The noise itself is difficult to describe. It's sort of equal parts chicken brooding/clucking, groaning quietly as one might do after hearing a bad pun, and moaning/grunting as one might do quietly late at night while spending quality time on the toilet after eating too much at dinner. I am at an utter loss to imagine what this could be. It is audible outside the fridge, but not inside (or at least it does not seem audible inside). It occurs only when the compressor is running. Each "moan" lasts between 1/2 second and 2 seconds.

I seem to recall a service flash about the capillary tube being pinched or something along those lines. up where the cap tube hits the evap.Liquid sputtering out of the cap ... I dont know much beyond that. Any old searsies out there recall that service flash? I think it was entitled "woodpecker sounds...thats all I have...over and out.

I can try, but it'll likely be difficult to capture this noise with a camera microphone. I'll give it a shot and see if I can come up with anything useful.

Service flash re cap tube sounds like a hot prospect. Would like to know more!
